Automated Cell Imagers
BioTek’s automated imagers bring your science to life, capturing spectacular images, z-stacks, montages and time lapse sequence with ease. With up to 100x magnification, plus brightfield, color brightfield, phase contrast and fluorescence channels, Lionheart Automated Microscopes support a wide range of microscopy workflows.

Product category: Microscopes
Lionheart FX – Automated Microscope
Lionheart™ FX Automated Microscope is a compact, inclusive microscopy system for a broad range of imaging workflows. It offers up to 60x air; 60x and 100x oil immersion magnification, with fluorescence, brightfield, color brightfield, and phase contrast channels for maximum application reach. An optional environment control cover provides incubation to 40°C and effective containment for CO2/O2 control, a humidity chamber optimizes conditions for long-term live cell imaging applications, and an available dual reagent injector facilitates rapid kinetic assays. Lionheart FX and Gen5 together comprise Augmented Microscopy™ – the automation of image capture, processing, analysis and development of publication-ready images and data.

Product category: Microscopes
Lionheart LX – Automated Microscope
BioTek’s new Lionheart LX Automated Microscope is designed with affordability in mind, offering an alternative to expensive, custom-built automated microscopes that are complex to learn and use. The compact, ocular-free hardware design eases ergonomic discomfort. Along with Gen5™ software, Lionheart LX enables Augmented Microscopy™, which fully automates image capture, processing and analysis. Load samples, start a run and come back to publication-ready images and quantitative data. Lionheart LX can help increase your research output while reducing processing time and costs.

Product category: Microscopes
Cell Imaging Multi-Mode Readers
Cytation Cell Imaging Multi-Mode Readers combine automated digital microscopy and conventional microplate detection in a modular, upgradable platform. This patented design provides rich phenotypic cellular information with well-based intensity data.

Product category: Microscopes
Cytation 5 Cell Imaging Multi-Mode Reader
Cytation™ 5 combines automated digital microscopy and conventional microplate detection in a configurable, upgradable platform. The microscopy module offers up to 60x magnification in fluorescence, brightfield, high contrast brightfield, color brightfield and phase contrast for maximum applications reach. The multi-mode detection modules include filter- and monochromator-based fluorescence detection, luminescence and UV-Vis absorbance detection. Gen5™ software provides complete control over all imaging and data capture, plus powerful image and data analysis.

Product category: Microscopes
Cytation 1 – Cell Imaging Multi-Mode Reader
Cytation™ 1 Cell Imaging Multi-Mode Reader combines fluorescence and high contrast brightfield imaging with conventional multi-mode detection without the expense and complexity commonly associated with other digital microscopy systems. This unique, patented design provides both quantitative phenotypic cellular information with well-based quantitative data. Cytation 1’s multi-mode detection module includes high sensitivity filter-based fluorescence and a monochromator system for UV-Vis absorbance. Temperature control and shaking are standard; CO2/O2 control and reagent injectors are available. BioTek’s powerful Gen5 software makes image capture and plate reading easy.

Our Legacy
One person can have an idea that changes the world while inspiring a legacy of leadership and teamwork. For BioTek, that person was Dr. Norman Alpert. As Professor and Chair of the Department of Physiology & Biophysics at University of Vermont, Dr. Alpert was a world-renowned expert in cardiac hypertrophy and energetics. In 1968, he founded BioTek Instruments to manufacture tools for biomedical safety testing. In 1981, he recognized an emerging potential in life sciences and other markets, and took the company forward into microplate-based instrumentation, where we’ve since become a world leader.

Dr. Alpert’s legacy echoes through our culture, where mutual respect, equal contribution and empowerment drive individual and team success. Because of this positive corporate culture, BioTek has an enviable tenure of experience enabling our employees, with their rich depth of knowledge, to offer outstanding support to our customers worldwide.

Investing In The Future
We firmly believe in taking responsible actions today to build a brighter tomorrow for our company, employees, community, customers, and planet. By donating time and resources to local higher education institutions and providing internships to local students, we inspire, shape and mentor the minds of tomorrow. BioTekkers are encouraged to participate in local volunteer programs to strengthen community bonds, while tuition reimbursement programs support personal and professional growth. We invest in sustainability initiatives, such as our two Vermont-based solar energy farms, to support a healthier environment for our employees and all Vermonters.

Think Possible
BioTek espouses a “Think Possible” approach that sets the tone for fresh ideas, unsurpassed customer service and original innovations. As a privately-help, second generation family business, we are unencumbered by the financial goal constraints common to publicly-held companies, and can freely act on our philosophical approach. We listen to each other, our customers, and our partners, and make decisions to invest in initiatives that result in long-term benefit.

This approach, along with our outstanding products, service, culture and stewardship, provides our customers with the best possible experience to ensure their ongoing scientific success.
