Hangzhou Tonglu Medical Optical Instrument Co., Ltd (Hangzhou Tonglu General Factory of Medical Optical Instruments, Hangzhou City) is located in the beautiful Tonglu Economic Development Zone. Founded in 1990 with a registered capital of RMB 26.88 million, it has been rated as “Zhejiang High-tech Enterprise”, “Zhejiang Famous Brand Enterprise”, “Zhejiang Patent Model Enterprise”, “Zhejiang Innovation Pilot Enterprise”, “Zhejiang AAA Contract-abiding & Promise-keeping Unit”, “Hangzhou Famous Brand Enterprise”, “Zhejiang Key Manufacturer in Medical Appliance Industry”, “ Sino-US Cooperation Enterprise” and “Industrial Leading Enterprise”. This factory has set up one provincial research and development center and one municipal research and development center, engaging in research and development of medical optical instruments. Now it has possessed 31 national new practical patents, undertaken five national projects, won three 2nd prizes of provincial technological progress and three provincial technological result appraisals and passed the certifications of ISO9001-YY/TO287 Quality Management System and CE.

Until now, it has developed and manufactured 41 series and more than 1,000 kinds of products (registered and put into production), including 5 series and more than 200 kinds of Category III products registered in national drug administration, 18 series and more than 800 kinds of Category II products registered in provincial drug administration and 18 series of Category I products registered in municipal drug administration. The main products are series endoscopes and supported operation equipment of ENT. Department, General Surgery Department, Urological Department, Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Department of Orthopedics, Anorectal Department, etc.

The products are mainly as follows: UGI electric endoscopes, LGI electric endoscopes, fiber pharyngoscopes, fiber gastroscopes, disposal abdominal paracentesis device, disposal biopsy forceps, sinus endoscopes, oto-endoscopes, larynx endoscopes, self-retaining laryngoscopes, arthroscopes, bronchoscopes, esophagoscopes, operation suction cutters, laparoscopes, abdominal operation equipment, hysteroscopes, electric uterus cutters, urethrocystoscopes, prostate vaporization resectoscopes, posterior intervertebral – disc – scopes, endoscope image displayers, endoscope digital image treatment system, proctoscopes, medical cold light source, medical titanium clamps, etc.

Establishing long-term close cooperation with Changchun University of Science and Technology, Zhejiang University, Zhejiang Medical Equipment Research Institute, Japan Sumita Company and Japan Panasonic Company, it draws their technological advantages and advanced management mode and operation mode, learns foreign advanced manufacturing equipment and inspection equipment and purchases foreign advanced equipment according to its demand.

For example, the first domestic sinus endoscopes developed in 1995 won gold prize of Chinese Medical Association; sinus set equipment developed in 1998 won the second prize of provincial technological progress; the laparoscope set equipment developed in 2002 won the second prize of provincial technological progress. In addition, it has undertaken 5 national projects, 4 provincial projects, 7 city-level projects and above 10 county-level projects, receiving good remarks from all levels of departments. Especially, in the aspect of endoscope innovation, we have improved optical system design, further eliminating aberration and improving imaging definition and viewing angle scope; adopted new steering system to improve the luminous flux of endoscopes and image quality; adopted optical fiber wire with large bore diameter, light cone compression and pantoscope to increase observation scope; improved the formulation of scotch band and sealant and gluing technique and adopted hard blue diamond glass gluing and sealing technology, making the endoscopes able to endure 134℃ and 0.23Mpa high-pressure sterilization and improving its wear resistance, definition and service life; adopted moisture removing technology and clean assembly technique, solving the moisture and dust within the optical system and improving imaging definition; improved structure design, adopted precision machining technology and improved surface treatment techniques, promoting product appearance quality. Therefore, among the colleagues in China, “Fu’ao” endoscopes are leading. Although the prices are higher than that of the products of peers, the sales amount is higher.
