APOs-Anti Description. APOs – Anti® antimicrobial alginate dressing. It is a sterile, non-woven pad or ribbon shaped. The dressing is made of tencel fibers and ionic silver. The silver contained in the dressing is an antimicrobial agent effective against a broad spectrum of microorganism. This dressing absorbs large amounts of exudate and bacteria from the wound, forming a soft cohesive gel, which adapts perfectly to the surface. It helps remove necrotic tissue and creates a favorable environment for effective wound management. the moisture control at the wound environment, as well as the number of bacteria, contributes to the healing process, and it also reduces the risk of infection. Technical specifications. Weight of the dressing: 200 g + 20 g/m2. Absorption: Not less than 8 times its starting weight. Dimensions: Nominal + 0.5 Features of dispersion: Is not dispersed. Sterilization: ETO (according to ISO 11135). Applications. Suitable for moderate to heavily exuding wounds. It is used in the healing of injuries such as: • Pressure injuries • Venous ulcers • Diabetic ulcers • Donor sites • Traumatic and surgical wounds It can be used in combination with compression therapy for the healing of venous leg ulcers. Applications mentioned above must be under medical supervision. Application. 1. Clean / debride the lesion according to local clinical Protocol. 2. Check that the surrounding skin is clean, dry and free of organic residue, soaps or detergents. 3. Assess the injury based on the size and shape of the dressing. Make sure there is at least 5 mm of space on the edge of the dressing around the wound pot. It is not necessary to cut the dressing to the size and shape of the lesion. 4. Apply the dressing centrally on the lesion. In case of cavitated lesions: firstly, make sure you insert the dressing directly into the cavity, and secondly, it is necessary to leave approximately a 2 mm piece outside the cavity. 5. Apply a suitable secondary dressing to avoid dehydration of the lesion. Note: Read carefully the instructions for use contained in the package before application. Features Promotes a moist environment favorable for the wound healing process. Increases absorption capacity, even under compression. The dressing impregnated with silver eliminates a broad-spectrum bacteria present in the lesion. Reduces significantly the pain during dressing changes and minimizes the disruption of the newly formed tissue. Adapts to the contours of the wound bed. Hidroderm ® Extra thin dressing. It is made of hydrocolloid microporous, auto attachment, sterile and disposable, layer made base on carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC).
Technical specifications.
Soft consistency, attachment to the skin, free of foreign material, uniform surface. The extra thin dressing creates the environment with an optimal moisture balance to maximise the rate of healing.

Indications.

Waterproof and flexible.
It is a non-absorbable substance which absorbs water from exudate through the mediation of the sodium ion.
In the treatment of ulcers, it creates a humid and warm atmosphere, due to the gelling of the dressing. It also increased its volume by contact of the wound bed with its own exudate. The interaction between wound and dressing creates a change in color and odor, due to the autolytic debridement. The dressing stimulates angiogenesis, keratinocyte proliferation and differentiation of the fibroblast in the wound.
Minimal changes are required. They can be placed up to 7 days depending on the nature of the injury and the level of exudate.

Benefits
Provides a suitable environment for the growth of fibroblasts (cells that form tissue granulation and epithelialization) and, therefore, the wound starts to heal from the outside edges toward the center of the wound (forming new skin).
The wound-healing time depends on the pathology of the patient, the nutrition, the continuous changes of position in the patient bedridden, and if the patient has diabetic, hypertensive or any other disease.
Precautions.
· It has guaranteed sterility unless the product has been damaged or opened before its use. Otherwise, the physical properties of the device can no longer be in their optimum condition for its intended use.
· This device is one use only.
· During the application in the wound it removes all dead or devitalized cell. Therefore, it could show a larger wound after the first changes and generate a bad smell (foul). After this, the smell disappears with a washing and the tissue shows bleeding and healing.
· Consult a health care professional if you notice irritation, maceration, hyper granulation or sensitivity in the wound as well as unexpected symptoms.
Directions for use:
Read carefully the instructions for use contained in the package before application.
1. Clean / debride the lesion according to local clinical Protocol.
2. Make sure the surrounding skin is clean, dry and free of organic particles, soaps or detergents.
3 Assess the injury to select proper dressing in size and shape. Ensure there is a minimum edge of 2-3 cm of dressing around the pot of the lesion. It is not necessary to cut the dressing to the size and shape of the lesion.
4. Apply HIDRODERM® centrally about the injury, leaving approximately a piece of 2-3 cm out of the cavity.
5. Apply a secondary dressing when the wound is exposed to friction.

Sterilex
Description.
Sterilex® Concentrated solution for cold sterilization with 8 to 12.5% of glutaraldehyde, for a final dissolution of 2 to 3.5%

Glutaraldehyde is slightly acidic in aqueous solution and typically used at room temperature. It has high reactivity with the amino groups of proteins, denaturing them, therefore it is used as a broad spectrum disinfectant.

FOR STERILIZATION.
· To assure sterilization is recommended to use an enzymatic detergent. Subsequent, A liter of concentrate glutaraldehyde can prepare up to 16 liters of disinfectant solution (60mL per liter of water) in an immersion period of 60 minutes.

Iodophor-Yodopad
Description.
Yodopad – Control® Solution containing Iodophor. it is used to prepare the patient’s skin prior to surgery in an Easy-application tube whilst providing special care to the skin of the patient.

1. Extract the device from its packing in aseptic conditions when the specifications of use indicate it.
2. Twist the applicator counterclockwise until the stop closed and the liquid container vessel barrier seal breaks.
3. Place the device with the sponge facing downward, press the applicator and allow the solution to flow towards the sponge, pushing slightly.
4. Wait until the solution reaches the sponge.
5. Moist the area where the surgery will be done moving the sponge from side to side for 30 seconds, then pull out the device.
6. Allow to dry completely.

Pleuramed® Equipment for removal of pleural drain. It is composed of 3-chamber setup: fluid collection, water seal, and suction control.

Transparent Film Dressing
Description.
Flexmar® transparent dressing, breathable, self-adhesive, made of microporous polyurethane and a biocompatible adhesive.
The film is flexible, waterproof and sterilized by ethylene oxide. It is also joint to a flexible and gridded support.
Use.
Cover and protect the puncture sites over catheters and other percutaneous devices. It is also used to assist autolytic debridement as secondary dressing. The most common applications are: Subclavian and jugular catheters, Tunneled catheters and implanted ports, Peripheral and midline catheters, Dialysis catheters, among others.
Do not use the dressing to replace sutures or other primary methods of wound healing.
Precautions.
1. Stop any bleeding at the puncture point before applying the dressing.
2. Do not stretch the dressing during application, since stress may cause skin injury.
3. Before applying the dressing make sure the skin is clean, without traces of SOAP and creams, and dry to avoid irritation.
4. The dressing can be used in an infected area only under the supervision of a health professional.
5. Anti-microbial creams containing Polyethylene Glycols can compromise the resistance of the transparent dressings.
6. Do not re-sterilize by ethylene oxide.
