R-TASC Project – Active Lens with Real-time Autofocus for Cataract Surgery
SAV-IOL’s portfolio contains three main intraocular lenses (IOL) for cataract surgery. Eden, a premium hybrid design, Lucidis, an advanced refractive design, and Harmonis, a customizable hybrid design. SAV-IOL’s new project is an electronic IOL called R-TASC, scheduled to totally disrupt the world of Ophthalmology.
The R-TASC Project is a fully accommodative active lens with real-time autofocus, powered by a combination of solar light in conjunction with induction, and able to be recalibrated via an app-controlled system. The wireless platform of R-TASC is also future proofed to incorporate augmented reality and other interactive features, opening a whole new array of possibilities never seen before in the world of ophthalmology. SAV-IOL has already confirmed the technical feasibility of this project and is now seeking to raise USD 20M to bring this groundbreaking device to the market.
